Talking about Greece, you may first think of Greek yogurt and feta cheese . With the help of the China-CEEC Expo, more "treasures" of this country are entering the Chinese market.
On the afternoon of May 31, Constantinos Liakos, a Greek businessman, told the reporter by phone that they were considering introducing more types of Greek products into China.
"We selected a batch of local products such as wine, spirits, olive oil, as well as Greek special seafood. These commodities will be imported from Ningbo Zhoushan Port and sent to the whole country through cold chain logistics," said Constantinos.
In 2014, Constantinos started up a trading company called Hellenic Agora. At an expo in Shanghai four years ago, he met the staff from the Ningbo Central and Eastern European Expo and Cooperation Promotion Center, who invited him to participate in CEEC Expo.
That year, Constantinos brought the Greek Ouzo wine and invited the public to taste it for free. The unique climate of Greece gives Ouzo its unique aroma and taste. The booth was crowded with people who came to taste.
Soon, an order of 100,000 yuan was signed during the expo. "With the help of the expo, the company has expanded its popularity in China, and the business has also grown significantly," Constantinos said. In addition to expanding his business, he has also made many business partners.
Constantinos became a regular member to the CEEC Expo. Last year, even the epidemic did not stop him from coming to Ningbo to participate in the expo - more and more new products start from Ningbo and travel to the whole country.
In Constantinos’ view, Ningbo is the gate for new products to enter the Chinese market, and the CEEC Expo is a medium for new products to enter the public eye. In this term, the significance of the Expo is unique and important.
With the maturity of the market, the products of Central and Eastern Europe, which were niche before, are showing great potential under the help of the expo.
